Echo Physics

This section covers high-yield concepts to help you appreciate the principles behind how the echo machine transforms the information it receives from the transducer into the images we see displayed. Knowledge of these principles will also help you to troubleshoot situations when the information displayed is incompatible with physiologic or expected values, or when artifacts are suspected.
